ไฮไลท์บนถนน auguststrasse ที่อยากนำเสนอเป็นพิเศษจุดแรก ถือเป็น pit stop ที่ต้องเช็คอินสำหรับหนอนหนังสือทุกคนนั่นคือ 'do you read me?' ร้านที่รวบรวมแมกกาซีนเจ๋งๆ เด็ดๆ จากทั่วโลก วางเรียงรายให้เลือกกันอย่างเมามันบนเชลฟ์สีดำสุดเท่ห์ ร้านเล็กๆ อัดแน่นไปด้วยแมกกาซีนดีๆ มากมาย ไม่ว่าจะแฟชั่น ถ่ายภาำพ ศิลปะแขนงต่างๆ ดีไซน์ สถาปัตยกรรม ตกแต่งภายใน วัฒนธรรม หรือประเด็นในสังคมปัจจุบัน มีหนังสือบ้างเล็กน้อยแต่เป็นแบบที่ึคัดมาแล้วจริงๆ ถึงร้านจะมีขนาดแค่ห้องแถวเดียว แต่ก็สามารถใช้เวลาอยู่ในร้านได้นานเป็นชั่วโมงๆ พร้อมเงินก้อนโตที่จ่ายไปโดยไม่ทันรู้ตัว :) พนักงานในร้านก็ไม่ว่าถ้าเราจะยื่นอ่านนานเท่าไหร่ก็ได้ แถมใจดีและมีความรู้ ช่วยหาหนังสือที่อยากได้อย่างโปร ที่น่ารักอีกอย่างคือถ้าซื้อหลายเล่ม ทางร้านจะใส่ถุงผ้าสุดคูลให้กลับบ้านไปเลย ช่วยลดโลกร้อนเบาๆ สบายใจ :) อ้อ... ร้านปิดวันอาทิตย์นะจ๊ะ บอกไว้ก่อนจะได้ไม่ไปเก้อ...

One hi-light place on auguststrasse you've got to check-in if you are the book lovers is 'do you read me?', the reading store that curates magazines, journal and reading materials from around the world. The wide selection offer ranges from fashion, photography, art, architecture, interior, cultural matters through social issues. with the cool decor, this small-size book store never disappoints you but will warmly welcome you to spend hours under the roof wandering around this magical world of papier. browsing before buying? go ahead as long as you want. the shop girl never chases you away but she is very helpful and will give you a smart advice about all questions you have. plus is a free love from the shop that they will give you the signature cloth bag once you buy many books to carry on. nice? definitely... just make sure you won't show up on sunday since the shop is off business... enjoy reading :) :)

ย่าน mitte คือ ย่านฮิปตลอดกาลของชาวเบอร์ลิน แม้ว่า ranking จะขึ้นๆ ลงๆ บ้าง แถมยังมีย่านใหม่เป็น newcomer มาชิงตำแหน่งท็อปชาร์ทตลอดเวลาไม่ว่าจะเป็น prenzlauer berg, kreuzberg, หรือแม้แต่ ku'damm ที่เค้าบอกกันว่าจะกลับมาฮิปอีกครั้ง (แล้วครั้งเล่า?) แต่ยังไงๆ mitte ก็ไม่เคยไหวหวั่น ยังคงสถาปนาตัวเป็นเสาหลักของเบอร์ลินสไตล์ได้อย่างสวยงามและถาวร

mitte กินอาณาบริเวณของ east berlin ค่อนข้างกว้าง แต่ย่านที่ชอบที่สุด ที่ถึงขนาดว่าอยู่ที่นี่แล้วไม่ได้มามีลงแดงแน่นอนคือ auguststrasse ถนนเดือนสิงหาที่ดูภายนอกแสนจะถ่อมตัว แต่จริงๆ แล้วเป็นตัวจริงที่รวมงานศิลปะเจ๋งๆ แกลเลอรี่ ร้านหนังสือ ร้านอาหาร บาร์ คอนเซ็ปท์สโตร์สุดคูล หรือแม้แต่ร้านจักรยานมือสองขวัญใจนักปั่นเรียงรายตลอดเส้นทาง ที่ชอบที่สุดคือ attitude ของถนนเส้นนี้สอนให้รู้ว่า การเป็นคนคูลเราก็รู้อยู่แก่ใจ เพราะการแสดงออกมันจะฟ้อง ไม่ต้องตะโกนติดป้ายขึ้นทะเบียนให้ผู้มาเยือนเพลียใจว่า... ว้า! มาตั้งไกล ได้แค่เนี่ย?...

'mitte' is the all-time hippest neighborhood in berlin. every though there have many new faces coming to challenge the top position of being berlin style icon like prenzlauer berg, kreuzberg or even (to be) back-on-track ku'damm, mitte always keeps her prosperity and longevity level to the highest.

mitte is occupied a large zone in east berlin area but the centre of art scene is named by 'auguststrasse', the low-key and very humble long narrow street where all art galleries, book stores, hip but real restaurants, bars, cool concept stores or even the 2nd hand bike shop heaven are packed in... the lesson learned from the attitude of this street, being cool is just what you are, not what you say or try to say...
